Full Moon Movement & Music Ceremony at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 3.27.13

We have sprung into spring, and although the weather is still a bit chilly, the March Wind Full Moon has been glowing brightly. Many of us at Muse for Life have been discussing how the past few days it has seemed as if the Moon has been knocking at the window to wake us up in the morning. It has been so BIG and BRIGHT! As the Wind Moon carries with it the gravity and magnetism for deeper, more expanded, clear and authentic communications, this big and bright March full moon pulls us towards a state of liberation from old limiting outdated and unecessary patterning. This beautiful Moon is reflecting the true light of our highest self and purpose.

The Full Moon Movement and Music Ceremony last night was absolutely charged with this magnificent energy and intention. Again, there were lots of new faces, and there were lots of familiar faces too. Thanks everyone who came.

We started with a community smudging where everyone activated and cleared each other’s energy with shakers, tuning forks, sage, visualization, and vocalization. After the smudging, we entered the main ceremonial space with sacred declaration and formed a circle in room. As we continued to shake rattles and TUNE IN to the wonderful flow of creation, nature, and source, we breathed together. Once settled into the space and energy, we held a tea circle where each participation recognized this moon and stated their intentions. The tea was a combination of local Hammond Dr. Sandy Springs Circle Birch, chamomilr, and pepperment. Once all intentions were stated and tea was drunk, everyone moved into a space of verbal silence. The music and movement guided the rest of the ceremony.

What wonderful waves on music and movement there were. There were many different waves with different peaks and valleys. There were different timbres and colors to these waves, but on this Full Moon, drums seemed to be paramount. As rhythm weaved itself through different tempos and dynamics within these waves, everyone TUNED deeply to the MOON with surrendering celebration.

We concluded the ceremony with drone flute, chanting, and a breathing circle. We are so grateful to be able to TUNE to the MOON in this way. We will be gathering again in two weeks in order to TUNE to the NEW MOON. All are welcome.

Let these community ceremonies be TUNING forks that act upon the musical stream of our lives, so we may TUNE IN deeply in a sacred way.

Seasonal TUNING Spring Equinox Guided Music & Movement Ceremony at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 3.20.13

Spring is here, and we TUNED IN to the new season in ceremony. As light and dark were balanced yesterday on the equinox, we gathered together, said our intentions for the coming season, planted seeds, honored the water that will nourish the seeds into growth, balanced our bodies through breath and movemement, TUNED our bodies with sound, and balanced our rhythms with entrainment.

After everyone was smudged, everyone gathered in a circle, and we opened the ceremony by stating our intentions and planting some seeds in a compostable planter. After each person’s intentions were stated, they poured water into a seperate glass tea cup. As segments and movements of the ceremony progressed, each person present was invited to bring awareness to their seeds, their intentions, and the water. In this way, the plant, the seeds, and the water would be activated and charged with the energy created.
After the intention setting, everyone did balancing pranayamas using kamboukahs, or restraining practices. We breathed in through the left nostril for a count of 8, held for 8, exhaled through the right nostril for 8, held out for 8, and then switched nostrils. We did this practice 16 times on each side. We then did kamboukah pranayamas through both nostrils. After pranayamas, we practiced two Kundalini yoga kriyas to balance our masculine & feminine energy and the energy of the circumvant force. Everyone participated fully.

After pranayamas & kriyas, we collectively performed some balancing asana practices, and then we shifted into exploratory movement. Once the movement was complete, we came back to sitting and explored polarized bij mantra chanting. As the chanting progressed, rhythms, pacing, dynamics, and pitch were all shifted to bring balance and coordination between the sensory and motor systems, as well as our inner & outer experiences. The chanting was followed by a deep musical entrainment. Towards the end of this entrainment space, TUNING forks were used to balance points on each person’s body.

We closed the ceremony by pouring the activated water from the glass tea cup into the planter with the seeds.

It is truly a blessing to be able to come together as a community in ceremony to celebrate and honor the things we all share and love.

Let these community ceremonies be TUNING forks that act upon the musical stream of our lives, so that we may TUNE IN deeply in a sacred way.

New Moon Movement & Music Ceremony at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 3.11.13

This March New Moon begins the first moon cycle for the coming of Spring. This New Moon is in Pisces, and most people seem to feel that it deeply resonates with letting go of all that is unnecessary and fully moving into the realization of dreams. Astronomically, this moon, as well as Earth and the sun, were in a similar alignment to December 21st. Those who have wisdom about this alignment speak to the idea of a portal being open. This portal allows for the direct communication, manifestation, and realization of our dreams and our highest potential.

There were many new faces for this March New Moon Movement and Music Ceremony at Muse for Life, and everyone present stated their intentions clearly and seemed to be in alignment with what has been said about this Moon. The energy was deep, and there were many different waves of music, movement, and energy throughout the evening. It is always wonderful to experience how the tides of these waves is effected differently on days of the New Moon versus the Full Moon, and to ponder this parallel within other parts of nature, the ocean and the Earth, our minds, emotions, and our bodies. A wise man once said, “You never step in the same place on the river twice”, and this is true also with the Moons. It is never the same, but a distictly different density can be sensed within the flow of energy on the New and Full Moon.

At the closing of the ceremony, one participant stated, “Tonight, we were truly acting as humans.” How Awesome! We are so grateful to be able to hold space for these ceremonies, and we are grateful to God for blessing us to be able to come together as a community in honoring of a natural cycle and state that we all share and are all effected by. Thanks to everyone for being present.

Let these community ceremonies be TUNING forks that act upon the musical stream of our lives, so that we may TUNE IN deeply in a sacred way.

Full Moon Movement & Music Ceremony at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 2.25.13

We held the Full Moon Movement and Music Ceremony in our upper space due to there being a class until 9pm in the lower space. A great crowd showed up for the ceremony, and the energy was deep and electric.

To set the intention and clear the energy for this February cleansing full moon, we began with smudging, rattling, and verbalization of intent. We then moved into a silent tea drinking space. Local persimmon leaf tea was poured, and all participants joined in the drinking.

We had a range of ages for this ceremony. Both children and adults TUNED to the MOON, and it was truly magical. Since we were in a smaller space, everyone was guided to listen deeply and pay attention to the use of silence to balance with sound. Everyone listened magnificently. Thank you to the new faces and familiar faces who came.

Let these community ceremonies be TUNING forks that act upon the musical stream of our lives, so we may TUNE IN deeply in a sacred way.

74th-108th Daily Ceremony Honoring Water at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta 1.24.13-2.27.13

image

We completed our 108th consecutive day of Daily Ceremonies Honoring Water on February 27th. 108 is a sacred creative number within yogic tradition, sacred geometry, fractal mathematics, and other spiritual traditions. 21 days is said to break a pattern, 40 days is said to establish a new pattern, and 108 days is thought to embody the new pattern with divine resonance.

image

These 108 days of ceremony have been beautiful and deep. So much has been revealed and discovered in this time. On the 108th day of ceremony, a clear vision for offering the Water Honoring Ceremony on a weekly basis appeared. What followed this vision was a purpose of offering this weekly ceremony specifically to teach others a model that they can take, expand upon, and offer and practice from their own unique points of community.  Along with this came a vision to offer intensive 3 hour ceremonial water honoring workshops for all who want to dive deep into the potentials for the various aspects, transitions, movements, and spaces within the ceremony. We will offer these workshops every 3 months.

image

With respect to the 108 practice cycle, inspiration for rotating new programs in every 108 days appeared. So, beginning on the new moon of March 11th, we will be beginning 108 consecutive days of Movement Meditation at Muse for Life. This Movement Meditation class will be offered daily at 9:00am. The Water Honoring Ceremonies will be on a different day each month at 7:30am.

All of us at Muse for Life will still be practicing Daily Water Honoring Ceremonies individually off site. All are encouraged to practice this also. By honoring water, we honor ourselves, each other, and all of creation.

We are excited for this new 108 day rotation of programs. We anticipate that by practicing this routine, Muse for Life will be TUNED to holding space for each one.

Let these community ceremonies be TUNING forks that act upon the musical stream of our lives, so we may TUNE IN deeply in a sacred way.

62nd-73rd Daily Ceremony Honoring Water at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta 1.12.13-1.23.13

Oh how the new year has been flowing beautifully as we continue to gather as a community in ceremony to honor water here at Muse for Life. Over the past 12 days of ceremony, we have been both onsite and offsite performing ceremony. From the 12th through the 16th, we were onsite gathering in ceremony, and the energy was always deep and meaningful. With each ceremony, the practice becomes more deeply pronounced as a prayer portal or window through which our prayers and intentions can be stated, affirmed, and broadcast. At the same time, the yogic flow of our movements is becoming more strong and focused. The process is truly transformational. We are so grateful for water and to spirit for leading us into this process.

From the 17th through the 21st, we gathered in ceremony offsite in Asheville, North Carolina. A few of us were gathered up there for a family wedding, so we took the ceremony with us.

image

As we woke each morning, we gathered and honored the water from each of the directions, we said corresponding prayers, and we opened our hearts and sang in gratitude for all the water is. We are so grateful to Source for blessing us with water and the life water provides and nourishes us with.

image

After each ceremony, we created an alter for the water. On the 22nd and 23rd, we were back in Sandy Springs and held ceremony at Muse for Life. It is good to be back onsite, and we look forward to engaging in ceremony to honor water again tomorrow. Each day is a blessing, and each ceremony is a beautiful practice. Ceremonies begin circa 9am. All are welcome.

Let these community ceremonies be TUNING forks that act upon the musical stream of our lives, so that we may TUNE IN deeply in a sacred way.

New Moon Movement and Music Ceremony at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta 1.11.13

image

It was another wonderful and powerful New Moon Movement and Music Ceremony as we gathered to TUNE to the moon. Many new faces showed up to this double Capricorn New Moon, and each shared both depth and delight. One participant shared that they had always gained inspiration from the moon as a child, but for some reason, this sense of connection slipped away. This person shared that the ceremony reminded her and brought her back to the depth and inspiratiin she felt as a child. Fantastic!

image

Most everyone engaged in both movement and music in a free and cathartic manner. Everyone seemed to let inhibitions go. This has been a wonderful way to be in ceremony as the music guides everyone through waves of intuition and expression. Many indivuduals shared that they were present to move through blocks, and that the music really seemed to allow this to happen.

image

We are excited to be in ceremony TUNING to the moon. The January Full Moon will be on the day of the Stone People’s Sweat Lodge, so we will be in ceremony in Chatsworth that day. The next Moon Movement and Music Ceremony at Muse for Life will be the New Moon in February. Daily, we are still offering Ceremonies to Honor Water. All are welcome.

53rd-61st Daily Water Ceremony at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Weekly Recap 1.3.13-1.11.13

After crossing over the 54th daily water ceremony at Muse for Life, we have decided to begin doing weekly blog recaps about the ceremonies instead of daily posts. We are still gathering together daily, but our blog posts about the ceremonies will be posted weekly.

image

This week’s daily ceremonies were deep and powerful. One day, we were limited on how long we could let the ceremonies continue, and the confined time allowed for interesting insights, awareness, and levels of presence. None of us felt rushed. Quite to the contrary, we felt incredibly present with our actions, thoughts, and intentions. Although it is wonderful having lots of time for ceremony, this limited time frame opened us into concentrated levels of presence and awareness. Our hearts were open, and our intentions were solid.

Each of the remaining hours of the day after ceremony seem to sparkle with a special tint of love, connection, balance, and harmony. It has become clear that we are not only TUNING into a deeper level of awareness and appeciation for water and everything it is, but through the process of these ceremonies, we are also TUNING ourselves internally, externally, congnitively, experiencially, and emotionally. We are mostly water, and these ceremonies seem to be providing a thorough TUNE-UP from the micro out. Of course, our intention has always been to honor water, and it is such a blessing that we receive also as we honor.

Today’s ceremony was strong, and both the visions and prayers at each of the directions are getting more refined and clear. As we continue these ceremonies daily, it is as if we are opening a portal where direct communication and intention with water becomes possible. With our hearts open, our prayers become downloaded into and through the water. Awesome!

Today is also the new moon, and tonight we are having the January New Moon Movement and Music Ceremony at Muse for Life. We will also be gathering in ceremony daily to honor water. All are welcome.

Let these community ceremonies be TUNING forks that act for the musical stream of our lives, so we may TUNE IN deeply in a sacred way.

Full Moon Movement & Music Ceremony at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 12.28.12

image

The Full Moon Movement and Music Ceremony at Muse for Life was wonderful, and this moon was all about letting go of that which no longer serves. After everyone was smudged, we started the ceremony with a tea drinking meditation and intention setting. The tea was brewed from local persimmon leaves, sassafrass twigs, and siberian ginseng. Time seemed to fold over itself because we did not end until 11pm. The music and movement was deep and focused in honoring the moon and our connection with it.

We are grateful to be able to gather in ceremony as a community to honor the moon and all she does. We are grateful to have space to hold ceremonies for community at Muse for Life. All are always welcome.

40th Daily Water Ceremony at Muse for Life in,Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 12.21.12

Today was the 40th continuous day doing ceremony honoring water. Today was also the winter solstice, so we did ceremony up in Chatsworth on the Stone People’s land.

We began the day doing a ceremony honoring light as the sun began to rise and the soltice light appeared at around 6:30am. We began the ceremony to honor water at 9:30, and the energy was strong and clear. Outside it was very cold, and this brought an exciting depth to the ceremony and focus. New songs were sung, and new faces joined in. At 12:00pm, the fire was lit for the solstice sweat lodge ceremony. The lodge was powerful and deep. Everyone was strong and intentional.

It was wonderful being in ceremony all day, and we are excited to be in ceremony again tomorrow at Muse for Life.

39th Daily Ceremony Honoring Water at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 12.20.12

It was good to be in ceremony this morning. Today is the last day of Autumn, and it is also the last day of a long 5,125 year cycle. Tomorrow, December 21st, marks the beginning of a new period for many calenders and cultures, and it is also an important time when our sun and Earth symbolically travel through the birth canal of our galaxy. We will be lined up with the center of our galaxy for 15 hours as we pass through this birthing.

Today’s ceremony honoring water was very deep and powerful. We are excited to be in ceremony again tomorrow, but we will be performing ceremony off site on the Stone People’s land up in Chatsworth Georgia. We will resume regular ceremonies at Muse for Life on December 33nd at 9:00am/ All are welcome.

Let these community ceremonies be TUNING forks for the musical stream of our lives, so that we may TUNE IN deeply in a sacred way.

38th Daily Ceremony Honoring Water at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 12.19.12

Today’s ceremony was rich and deep. A chant came for the direction of the north, and both posture and movement had a great presence. It is good to be in ceremony honoring water within community, and it is good to move and learn with community and friends together. Learning to navigate ceremonial space in community teaches many lessons about holding space, projecting light and love, honoring each other, and simply moving together. It is a beautiful experience to embark upon each day. We are grateful to be in ceremony in this way, and we are excited to be in ceremony once again tomorrow. All are welcome.

Let these community ceremonies act as TUNING forks for the musical stream of our lives, so that we may TUNE IN deeply in a sacred way.

37th Daily Ceremony Honoring Water at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 12.18.12

It is amazing how deeper and deeper insights unfold as we continue being in ceremony honoring water. Today, deeper revelations of the roles within the ceremony became defined. In an early ceremony, the roles of the holder and the pourer were revealed, and today, the role of the holder was deepened. The holder has the role of holding the direction bowls as water is being poured, but the holder also has the chief responsibility of holding the energetic space as the water is being poured from the direction bowls into the Great Spirit bowl. Through focused attention, visualization, movement, posture, and shakers, the holder positions their self as an energetic radio tower through which all the prayers and intentions are conducted. They strongly hold the space for the deep container of honoring that is created.

The ceremony was deep and powerful today, and we are excited to be in ceremony once again tomorrow. All are welcome.

36th Daily Ceremony Honoring Water at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 12.17.12

It was good to be in ceremony honoring water again this morning. We have been working with bringing some crystal gridwork into the mesa configuration. Specific stones are being placed in certain directions in order to intensify the intention of prayer and honoring. Many moments during the ceremony seemed to completely transcend time. There was a sense of presence that went beyond any conception of now, past, or future. The ceremonial energy felt like an eternal moment; a clear window where our hearts and prayers were in full expression beyond any limiting concept of identity.

New Moon Movement and Music Ceremony at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 12.13.12

Thank you to everyone who came, and everyone who wanted to come. Come when you can. We will be gathering to celebrate and TUNE to the moon on the evening of every new moon and full moon.

The music and movement of the ceremony naturally and sweetly flowed in waves that brought each one present to greater depths of experience and release. One ceremony participant shared that as they were dancing, they journeyed through the universe. They realized that they themselves were a universe, and we are all universes. Awesome!

Today begins another 7 day cycle of ceremonies honoring water at Muse for Life. We poured the water from the last 7 days of ceremony from the Great Spirit bowl into our plants. May the water continue to be honored as it nourishes the growth and health of the plants. Recently, one of our younger students excitedly picked a bunch of leaves off, so they are in need of good nourishment.

The ceremony today was deep and concentrated. On Sundays, we have a defined amount of time to be in ceremony because the space is used by others in the community after, and this allows are minds to be focused and our prayers clear. Every action and word felt very meaningful. We are truly grateful to be able to be in ceremony everyday honoring water. We are excited to be in ceremony again to honor water tomorrow. All are welcome.

Let these ceremonies act as TUNING forks for the musical stream of our lives, so we may TUNE IN deeply in a sacred way.

34th Daily Ceremony Honoring Water at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 12.15.12

What a beautiful life we live, and how special each day is when we gather together in ceremony. We had a new face with us today in ceremony honoring water, and she was a wonderful presence. Thank you to everyone. Today, we prayed deeply and danced with our bodies from our hearts. Some of us had been working hard preparing for the fall season dance rite of passage, also known as the dance recital. The excitement of that ceremony was definately in the room. The waters of the world and life have provided so much, and we are so grateful.

Our new guest sang a new song to the waters of the east, and the song was beautiful. We are thankful for the songs that sing through us. It is our prayer that we honor the water in the best way possible. We are grateful for how these ceremonies show us how to deepen this practice and intent. We are excited for the ceremony tomorrow. All are welcome.

Let these community ceremonies act as TUNING forks upon the musical stream of our lives, so that we may TUNE IN deeply in a sacred way.

30th Daily Ceremony Honoring Water at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 12.11.12

Teiwaz, Norse god of sky, is who Tuesday is named after, and the ceremony today was surely carrying the open, expansive energy of the sky. What a beautiful and blessed opportunity it is to be in community having ceremony to honor water. Today, prayers and praise was given as the water was poured and called in from each of the seven directions. Flutes, rattles, and body percussion were offered as the water from each of the directions was poured into the Great Spirit bowl. And gongs were played in three circles around the ceremonial alter before we sang to the water of source. Wonderful visions of love and light eminated as we sang to the water. All movements were yogically choreographed, and when circling the mesa, we did tiger walking. Drum was played as we touched the sacred water to points upon the body, and drone flute was played as a final offering of praise to the water. We love you water, and we are grateful. We will be in ceremony once again tomorrow. All are welcome.

29th Daily Ceremony Honoring Water at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 12.10.12

Ceremony was gentle yet powerful today. As the water from each direction was poured into the Great Spirit bowl, special energy of song, music, posture, and praise was focused upon the water. More and more it is becoming clear that our bodies, as well as other items in the ritual space, become antennae for the ceremonial energy and the sacred intent. It is truly wonderful how deep these ceremonies have become. We are grateful for water, and we are happy to honor water in this way. We will be in ceremony again tomorrow. All are welcome.

28th Daily Ceremony Honoring Water at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 12.9.12

Today was the 28th consecutive daily ceremony honoring water at Muse for Life, and 28 days marks the length of the average moon cycle, so this is a significant marker even though the moon phase this cycle is closer to 31 days long. We started the daily ceremonies honoring water the day before the new moon last month on the 12th of November, and the new moon is this Thursday the 13th of December. The ceremony has deepened greatly in this 28 day period, and we have all grown from participating and opening our hearts with gratitude for the water.

The drum has found a bigger space in the ceremonial flow, and the rhythm allows us to easily align with our inner nature and the connection we all share with water. We are tremendously grateful to be able to gather together in ceremony to honor water. We look forward to being in ceremony once again tomorrow at 9:00am. All are welcome.

We experimented with using the drum as the independent water bowls for each of the directions were poured into the Great Spirit/God bowl. We played the drum through this entire movement as well as when we sang to the water. The drum is deep and powerful. The repetitious rhythm pulsed through our thoughts so that our deeper being could easily surface. We opened ourselves and honored the water from our core. It was beautiful and intense. We are truly grateful to be able to have the space and opportunity to open ourselves in community and find ways to more deeply and sincerely honor water with both integrity and joyfulness. Thank you water. Angwanze Awala.

26th Daily Ceremony Honoring Water at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 12.7.12

Friday is the day of Frida, goddess of love, also known as Aphrodite. Today’s ceremony was very loving and open. There was a deep sense of calm. As the water was poured for each direction and prayers of praise were proclaimed for the water from each direction, a deep sense of connection was felt. While expressing gratitude and prayers for others, the feeling was similar to that of sharing with a deeply loved family member or friend. We are truly blessed for the water is within us also. This loved one fills our being and our life.

We will gather again in ceremony honoring water tomorrow. All are welcome.

25th Daily Ceremony Honoring Water at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 12.6.12

It was an overcast morning as the conch was blown just after 9:00am. The chilliness of fall has returned, and the waters in the sky were gathering together. Winter is approaching. The ceremony today was extremely focused and deep. Specific names were prayed on as the water was poured for each direction, and as the water was honored for the posture that it holds from that direction. Today our hearts felt truly open. There was a vision for whomever is the pourer being the one who sings or plays a special song as the water from each direction is being poured into the Great Spirit bowl. This special song would just be sung by them. There was also a vision for developing deeper choreography of movement as we transition within the ceremony.

All in all the ceremony was beautiful, heart felt, and warm. We are grateful to be able to gather together and honor water. We are grateful for water. We look forward to being in ceremony once again tomorrow. All are welcome.

24th Daily Ceremony Honoring Water at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 12.5.12

image

Every ceremony seems to bring us deeper into a presence of ourselves and our connection with water. We were joyful today, joking and laughing frequently. The energy was playful.

We poured for each of the directions and honored the water from that place. We prayed for all those in need, so they may connect with the energy of the water from that direction. In the west, a vision for requesting a song to sing to honor the water from the west appeared. How beautiful to connect with the ceremony and spirit so deeply to request a song to be able to honor this connection even more. With each day, the rituals deepen. We love you, thank you, and honor you, water, for the wisdom you teach and the generosity you demonstrate. Great spirit, we are thankful for the water.

It was a wonderful ceremony today, and we look forward to being in ceremony once again tomorrow. All are welcome.

23rd Daily Ceremony Honoring Water at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 12.4.12

The ceremony moved with even more concentrated silence today. Teiwaz, the sky god in Norse mythology, is the namesake for Tuesday, and although our spirit and intentions were open with the sky, our concentration was one pointed. Emotions surfaced, and we more deeply poured our focus into honoring the water. It is becoming clear that in these ceremonies intended to hold a space of honor, opening up and offering everything is the most authentic form of honoring. Ritual and practicing acts holds a deep space, but posturing for ritual’s sake,is inauthentic. Being willing to express the dark and vulnerable parts allows for honoring with humility. Through all the processing, we gathered strength and courage from each other and opened our hearts to honor water even more deeply.

We are grateful to be in ceremony everyday honoring water. We will be in ceremony once again tomorrow at 9am. All are welcome.

22nd Daily Ceremony Honoring Water at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 12.3.12

It was nice to begin the day once again honoring water. Today, everyone’s energy was focused, and silence seemed to be a thread in prayer. We decided to keep the water from each ceremony in the Great Spirit bowl until the end of a week. Today is the second day of how we are clocking the ceremonial week. Sunday is the first day.

As we progressed through the pouring of each of the directions, we were deep within the process. We were present with the rituals, yet we were practicing letting go and allowing our hearts to be open. We were balancing ritual acts and words with complete surrender. The intention of the surrender being to honor water from the core of being, to honor water from source. The more practice we have in ceremony, the more intuitive this dance becomes.

We look forward to being in ceremony once again tomorrow. All are welcome.

21st Daily Ceremony Honoring Water at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 12.2.12

image

On this beautiful Sunday morning, the conch was blown just after 9:00am. We began the ceremony with a heart felt prayer of gratitude, and we asked that our hearts be opened even more through this ceremony and that we may honor water in the best way possible.

The energy was sweet and soft. The musical flow of the ceremony was more internal than external today, but this aspect somewhat magnified the portions that did contain instrumentation and singing. We felt deeply present, and the ceremony was very focused. As we honored the water from each of the directions, we asked that all those in need of that direction’s water energy may connect with the water deeply in a good way for the good of all. The water and the ceremony is a window for prayers and praise.

We are deeply grateful to be able to be in ceremony honoring water, and we look forward to being in ceremony once again tomorrow. All are welcome.

20th Daily Ceremony Honoring Water at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 12.1.12

The ceremony was performed solo today at Muse for Life, and the energy and insight was still deep. Regular attendees had other committments and classes to teach. Within the solitude and still full with the moon’s glowing energy, the ceremony deepened to a new level of focus.

Once all the water for each of the directions was poured into the corresponding bowls and once the bowls were poured into the Great Spirit/God bowl, ritual singing was performed to honor the water. Within this space, a clear vision of the water and the water bowl being a looking glass of sorts for prayer became apparent. Loved ones, friends, people known and unkown can be visualized and prayed for within this honoring singing space. It is as though the water is a window for the prayers. The prayers resonate through the water and the within the water of the individuals. This was a very powerful experience.

We are grateful for these ceremonies, and we look forward to being in ceremony once again tomorrow honoring water. All are welcome.

19th Daily Ceremony Honoring Water at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 11.30.12

Like the flowing rippling waves of water, today’s ceremony streamed with balanced energy and inspiration. Deep insights unveiled themselves when we were celebrating and honoring the water from each of the directions.

In the north, it was revealed that emotions do not need to be entangled with the mind and thought. As powerful emotions rise, we can consciously choose to keep our mind out of it. We can feel and process the emotion completely independent from the mind’s analysis and forced associations. We can feel emotion without attachment to reason, cause, or explanation. This was the lesson of the north.

We look forward to being in ceremony once again tomorrow. All are welcome.

18th Daily Ceremony Honoring Water at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 11.29.11

The energy from the Full Moon Movement and Music Ceremony last night soaked into the daily ceremony honoring water this morning, and the energy was and still is rich and deep. Sometimes words and language cannot fully express or contain the depth and true meaning of experience, and that is how the energy for the ceremony honoring water is today. Real love and joy is felt. Absolute gratitude is opening our hearts. And light is everywhere. Life is beautiful. The energy of the ceremony today, and all true ceremonies, seems to work and have effect on wavelengths of being that resonate so subtly that words cannot describe. In fact, sometimes these layers of being and experience might not even be realized until after the ceremony. Sometimes processing takes time. The energy that was generated in the full moon ceremony last night and the energy within the ceremony honoring water today was deep and intense. Although joyful & celebratory, we are all going to sleep well tonight. We look forward to being in ceremony to honor the water again tomorrow. The conch will blow around 9:00am. All are welcome.

Full Moon Movement and Music Ceremony at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 11.28.12

It was beautiful to TUNE to the moon last night in ceremony with movement and music. The energy was electric and warm. We are grateful for the new faces, and we are grateful for the familiar faces. Thanks to all who came and participated.

image

The moon was full, and there was also a lunar eclipse earlier in the day. Generally speaking, a lunar eclipse encourages us to confront and identify the shadow side of our emotional nature. Combined with the November full moon’s propensity towards breaking old patterns, giving full expression to our personal being, deepening our relations, and taking our perspective from the personal level to the universal level, this lunar eclipse and full moon relationship is transformatively powerful. This power was definately felt last night. The energy and experience was powerful, but it was also sweet.

After smudging, we began in a circle and played rattles as we all connected with the moon personally & voiced this connection to each other. We focused our intention towards honoring the moon through opening our hearts. Once the language sharing concluded, the rhythm of the rattles naturally flowed with a musical wave that chartered many tonal, emotional, and expressive waters. Everyone was very focused and deliberate. We sang, we played, we moved our bodies, we prayed, and we joyously let go in deep expression of gratitude for the moon. We navigated this celebration space through many crescendos, decrescendos, and climaxes. After roughly 2 hours, we concluded the musical and movement part of the ceremony kneeling with foreheads to the ground. It was powerful. Finally, we closed the ceremony with a gratitude circle holding hands.

We are extremely grateful to be able to be in ceremony honoring the moon at Muse for Life. We look forward to the New Moon movement and music ceremony happening in 2 weeks. All are welcome.

17th Daily Ceremony Honoring Water at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 11.28.12

Today we had some new faces and new energy with us in ceremony honoring water at Muse for Life. As the numbers grow and people weave in and out of the daily ceremonies, the depth and electricity of the ceremony grows. This electricity has a resonance that we consciously are sending out into the community of Sandy Springs and the world. We are enjoying so much gathering together in community to open our hearts and give thanks to water.

As we poured the water bowls for each direction into the Great Spirit/God bowl, we brought in some new musical poetry to honor the specific water energy from each direction. In the east, we had a beautiful light flute. In the south, we played the Nigerian flute, and it really vibrated today. Good loving resonance for the challenging stirring that sometimes occurs during the healing process. For the west, we played the didgeridoo in honor of ancestry, relationships, and wisdom traditions. For the north, we played the frame drum in gratitude for the warrior spirit that is born out of the dark stillness that teaches stamina, endurance, strength, and courage. We are grateful to be in ceremony honoring water, and we are delighted to experience the poetry of the ceremony growing, evolving, and deepening.

We will be in ceremony once again tomorrow at 9:00am, and we look forward to the Full Moon Movement and Music Ceremony this evening at 9:00pm. All are welcome. Come TUNE to the Moon with us!

16th Daily Ceremony Honoring Water at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 11.27.12

Depth and intensity seems to be maginified as the full moon draws near. Today, our hearts were opened wide as loving water filled us with its spirit and energy. As we honor water, it seems the water within us shines and vibrates in sympathetic response. We are truly honored to have the opportunity to be in ceremony in this way. Simple instrumentation of drum and flutes were offered in praise of specific directions, and the energy was sweet. The mesa geometry is evolving. We look forward to being in ceremony again tomorrow both to honor the water at 9am and the full moon at 9pm. All are welcome.

15th Daily Ceremony Honoring Water at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 11.26.12

The conch was blown at 9:00am. Todays ceremony honoring water integrated mesa concepts deeper within the fabric of the ritual flow. A flute that resonates with the energy of awakening was placed with the east water bowl, and a deep spirited flute from Nigeria was placed in the west, in honoring the ancestors. Both flutes were played as their corresponding water was poured into the Great Spirit bowl. Other items, gems, and instruments were placed on intentional locations upon the mesa rug. Clarity came for placing items, statues, honoring relics within specific locations in the room, making the space of the room an extention of the water mesa.

In addition to these mesa forms of deepening the ceremony, visions around playing the bowls with 3 cycles of 7 breaths became clear. Within each breath cycle, the bowl is circumnavigated 7 times. The geometry of this order illuminates and honors the 7 directions, spiraling the natural mathematics into a multi-dimensional form. Within this geometric container, yogic locks can be held, and prayers can be actively stated and visualized.

The ceremony was deep today. We look forward to being in ceremony once again tomorrow. All are welcome. Also, Full Moon Movement and Music Ceremony Wednesday the 28th at 9pm.

14th Daily Ceremony Honoring Water at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 11.25.12

It felt good to be in community ceremony once again at Muse for Life. Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, everyone was honoring the water in ceremony independently. Everyone brought their experiences with them to the ceremony today. The energy was deep, clear, and focused. How wonderful it is to be able to honor water in ceremony. Water privides and teaches so much. Water is always giving and receiving.

We blew the conch just after 9:00am, just after the room was setup and smudged. Once everyone was smudged, everyone was annointed with blue cloth, and then we entered the room in, a sacred way. The ritual space was opened, and the tone was set with singing bowls. Water was poured for each of the seven directions, water energy was welcomed into the sacred ceremonial space and honored for everything the water provides from that direction. Special prayers were made for anyone who might be in need of that energy. After all the directions were poured and welcomed in, we set the tone once again with tuning forks. After playing shakers and rattles around the perimeter, the, watet from each of the directions was honored and poured into the Great Spirit or God bowl. Once every direction was poured, we joined our voices in singing to the water. We sang 3 verses out loud, 2 whispered, and then 1 silent. After the silent verse was concluded, we circled the perimeter and began singing 1 silent and then 1 out loud verse. We concluded the singing and, then knelt towards the east. We thanked the water once again, dipped our fingers into the Great Spirit bowl, and touched the water to sacred points upon the body. The flute was played during this space, and the ceremony was concluded.

We look forward to being in ceremony once again tomorrow. We also look forward to being in ceremony Wednesday, 11.28.12 at 9:00pm, to honor the full moon with movement and music. Again, all are welcome.

Let these community ceremonies act as TUNING forks upon the musical stream of our lives, so that we may TUNE IN in a sacred way.

The ceremony was performed solo today, earlier than usual. After ceremony honoring water, we went to Chatsworth Ga. for the Stone Peoples Sweat Lodge Ceremony. We will be back at Muse for Life tomorrow.

Today, the ceremony honoring water was deep. There was a sense that all intentions, prayers, and visions were directly woven into the substance and structure of the water. It was possible to see light passing from our bodies into the water. Magificent! This was a perfect way to prepare for the sweat lodge ceremony.

Ceremony will begin tomorrow at 9:00am. All are welcome.

Today was the last day doing ceremony remotely on the west coast, and everywhere else community was in ceremony honoring water. The energies and waters of the west are strong, rejuvenating, and beautiful. Deep gratitude and praise for the waters of the west.

Ceremony today way clear and flowing. It simply felt natural. In some ways, there was sadness or at least intensity for it being the last ceremony on the west coast, but it is exciting to be back in ceremony in Sandy Springs tomorrow morning.

The community will be doing the water ceremony independently tomorrow because we will be doing sweat lodge ceremony all day in Chatsworth after. Regular daily ceremonies honoring water will resume Sunday 11.25.12 at Muse for Life. All are welcome.

11th Daily Ceremony Honoring Water at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 11.22.12

This is the 11th day of being in ceremony honoring water, and today’s ceremony ritual was very deep and insightful. We are again doing them seperate due to having a Thanksgiving holiday break. We will come back together as a group on Sunday November 25th.

As we continue this process and as we committ to being in ceremony on a daily basis to honor water, various depths and layers of awareness are unfolding and allowing for TUNING IN to different waves. Specifically, insights into meaning and potential of the various rituals, as well as ritual placements and framing for intentional prayer have come into focus.

Ritual can be deepened and expanded in many ways. Awareness can be brought to each movement and posture that is held or enacted within ceremony. Really, each aspect of the ceremony is a kind of yoga. The movements and postures themselves can be deepened and expanded to hold a more yogic nature and flow. In fact, the staging of all the ritual moments can be a beautiful, strong, coordinated, and deliberately choreographed ceremonial yoga.

During various points of the ceremony, deepening the intention and tuning focus to prayers for others can be practiced. Specifically, a good time for prayer is within the moments when water is poured for each of the directions and recognized for the posture that it holds from the space of that energy. General or specific prayers can be stated for people and relations that may be in need of what the water energy from that direction can give. Visualizing light radiating from the heart and blending with the water in all things amplifies these prayers.

We are excited about this finer TUNING through prayer and yogic intention. We are also excited to be in ceremony again tomorrow honoring water. Happy Thanksgiving everyone. We are so grateful to be able to be in ceremony in a sacred way. We are grateful for the water, we are grateful for life, and we are grateful for all our relations.

Let these community ceremonies be TUNING forks that act upon the musical stream of our lives, so that we may TUNE IN deeply in a sacred way.

10th Daily Ceremony Honoring Water at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 11.21.12

Ceremony today was performed off site. Because of taking time for the Thanksgiving holiday, Wed-Fri ceremony is being prepared remotely. It has been shared by one participant that a the most important thing is relationship. Above all other things, relationship is the most important. That is beautiful.

Today, Craig Martin Canedy, founder of Muse for Life performed daily ceremony in Los Angelos California. Here is a photo of the remote ceremonial setting.

9th Daily Ceremony Honoring Water at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 11.20.12

It was a solo ceremony today, and the energy was sweet. After smudging and blowing the conch, the ceremony began with bowls and bells to clear the space. As rituals for honoring the waters from each direction were performed, insights into ways that we can deepen the rituals and the ceremony became clearer.

Specifically, the placement of items came into focus. It became clear that the ceremonial rainbow rug can be viewed like a mesa, where ritual items are placed in specific locations to activate, charge, and embody energies. A vision for placing sacred items around the rainbow mesa to honor the directions and the waters from the directions came. Members of the community have discussed this, and we,are excited about deepening the ceremony in this way.

As a reminder, daily ceremonies will be off site from Wednesday 11/21- Sunday 11/25. We will be doing ceremony individually when we are offsite, but we will come back together on Sunday at 9:00am. We look forward to honoring the water individually tomorrow.

Let these ceremonies be tuning forks for the musical stream of our lives, so that we may TUNE IN in a sacred way.

Today, the conch was blown a little after 9:00am. The energy felt deep and celebratory. As I look out the window now, I can see soft white clouds in the distance, and I can feel their resonance within my heart. Thank you water for all that you do and all that is. Today, we prayed, we honored, we sang songs, and we danced joyfully around the alter. After the ceremony was concluded, the ceremonial water was moved, along with ritual items, to the northeast corner of the ceremony room. See the photo above. We look forward to being in ceremony at Muse for Life once again tomorrow. All are welcome. The conch will blow at 9:00am.

6th Daily Ceremony Honoring Water at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 11.17.12

Today we deepened our intentions and worked towards empowering each other in the co-facilitation process. Aligning our physical bodies with the directional bowls and activating our intentions with shakers led to a more refined vision of how the seperate ceremony participants can coordinate themselves with each other to intensify the energy. Bodies aligned, voices aligned and singing a song of honor and love. 3 times Awala out loud, 1 time whisper, 1 time silent with hand on the heart. We have deep gratitude for being able to come together in ceremony this way. We love you water. We honor you, we thank you, and we behold you with all of our being.

We look forward to ceremony tomorrow. The conch will blow at 9:00am. All are welcome.

5th Daily Ceremony Honoring Water at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 11.16.12

The skies were clear and blue as the conch was blown at 9:00am this morning for the daily ceremony honoring water. Everyone’s focus and energy is deepening. As we poured for all the directions and then poured with gratitude back into the Great Spirit bowl, the joy of honoring and celebrating the water led us not only to sing but also to dance.

After concluding the ceremony, we all did a short meditation in stillness. The experience today was truly deep. Everyone felt and communicated the feeling of this depth. We are TUNING IN, and we are grateful to be in ceremony everyday honoring the water within all things. Blessed is the water. Blessed are we by the water. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Angwanze Awala. Angwanze.

4th Daily Ceremony Honoring Water at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 11.15.12

The clouds were gathering as the conch was blown at 9:00am today. They were dense and gray. They were drawn out like a thick blanket covering the sky. We smudged the space and then ourselves, and then we opened the ceremony with a clear setting of intention accompanied by bowls and bells. To honor the water inside ourselves, each other, and all things through being present in ceremony. This was our intent.

As we poured water for each of the seven directions and welcomed the water energy into the ceremonial space, we gave thanks for all it does and the posture it holds in that direction. Everyone was focused deeply today. We were practicing with reverence from the heart. The sacred theatre of these rituals in ceremony is becoming more coordinated, and the rituals themselves are becoming more like sacred dance. The timing, the precision, the joy, and the depth are all becoming more synchronious. They are active prayer. Each act is an asana, a yogic posture. All of it is meditation. After closing the ceremony and walking outside, we saw that it had rained. The clouds had opened up upon us. What an honor it is to honor the water in this way. We are excited about the ceremony tomorrow. The conch will blow at 9:00am. All are welcome.

May these ceremonies be tuning forks for the musical stream of our lives, so that we may tune in in a sacred way!

3rd Daily Ceremony Honoring Water at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 11.14.12

The ceremony this morning was great, especially after honoring the moon last night in the New Moon Movement and Music Ceremony. Our focus and intention with the practice is deepening. The various postures of the ceremony are unfolding, and it is becoming more clear how each role invites a different depth of focus & attention in order to honor the water with sincere presence and intention. Each movement, stance, statement, and ritual has become a practice within itself. To be present and focused on the water, yet to be open to the feeling of celebration and gratitude for water in the world and in our lives is an interesting juxtaposition of being that is appearing. To be able to celebrate and feel ecstatic without checking out inside ourselves is part of the practice of the presence needed for this ceremony, as with all ceremony and meditation. To behold the water in the light of ceremony is an honor, and we are excited to be honoring the water, each other, and everything in this way. We look forward to the ceremony tomorrow. Join us if you can. All are welcome.

New Moon Movement and Music Ceremony at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta 11.13.12 Recap

image

Thanks to all who showed up for the first New Moon Movement and Music Ceremony at Muse for Life last night. It was a beautiful ceremony to activate this wave of Muse for Life’s TUNING IN initiative. And what an amazing time and moon to be honoring in ceremony! This November new moon is in Scorpio, moving out of Mercury retrograde, its a super moon, and there is a solar eclipse. Truly a highly charged and potent time.

The moon being in Scorpio TUNES us into being focused and intentional about our lives. It is also an extremely potent time to break or change old patterning and align with true purpose and meaning in our lives. This is a time to break through old blocks that no longer serve. In fact, this moon TUNES us into the fact that this re-patterning does not need to be hard or complicated. It is as simple as just allowing it to occur. All we have to do is step through the door. All new moons particularly TUNE us to new beginnings, but this new moon specifically TUNES us into emotional expression. It is a time of expressing deeply, and through this expression, the re-patterning occurs. It is the impetus for real change and transformation.

image

Everyone present last night walked through the door and connected deeply to themselves with both reverence and honor for each other and the moon. The movement and music momentum of the ceremony lasted 2 hours, and wonderful waves of feeling and expression combined with celebration and depth to honor the moon as she moves into the darkness of her cycle. We TUNED IN deeply, and the harmonics are still resonating. The ceremonial TUNING fork was struck, and sympathetic resonating frequencies and harmonies both within ourselves and outside are aligning and rising to the surface.

We look forward to the Full Moon Movement and Music Ceremony on November 28th at 9:00pm, where we will again TUNE to the Moon in honor and reverence. Please join us as we TUNE to the moon in ceremony.

Let these community ceremonies act as tuning forks for the musical stream of our lives, so that we may tune in deeply in a sacred way!

2nd Daily Ceremony Honoring Water at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 11.13.12

Today, we blew the conch once again at 9:00 am and began the ceremony to honor water for all that is provides and is. The ceremony was powerful and focused. We poured for all the 7 directions, east, south, west, north, Earth, Sky, and within, and we welcomed the energy of the water from each of those directions into the sacred ceremonial space. We said prayers of thanks and reverence, and we recognized the specific impact that the water from each of those directions carries with it. After pouring for each of the directions and honoring the water energy from those directions, we then poured the water from each direction into the Great Spirit Bowl. We said prayers of thanks and we sang a song to honor all the water. We visualized light radiating from our hearts into the water and everywhere that water is, which is everywhere. We concluded the ritual by, again, giving thanks and putting some water on points on the body while playing and listening to flute music.

It was a beautiful ceremony, and we are honored to be able to be in ceremony in this way. We are excited for TUNING INTO the sacred depth of water by honoring it in ceremony tomorrow. We are also excited to TUNE to the MOON in the New Moon Movement and Music Ceremony, which starts tonight at 8:00pm. What a beautiful life it is when we can be in ceremony honoring this wonderful creation so often. We are so grateful

Everyone is welcome. Please TUNE IN with us.

1st Daily Ceremony Honoring Water at Muse for Life in Sandy Springs Atlanta Recap 11.12.12

Today at 9:00am, we blew the conch shell and began the first daily ceremony honoring water. The ceremony was a beautiful success, and all who were present connected deeply and sent loving appreciation to the water that is in all things. There were 3 people present, and this is a good start considering that the entire inspiration for this ceremonial activity is TUNING IN on deeper, more purposeful and loving levels. A TUNING fork must be struck before it sends out a vibration, and today the ceremonial TUNING fork honoring water was struck. The vibration is now waving outward and its resonance will raise to the surface kindred sympathetic harmonies. As we continue to offer and perform these ceremonies everyday, the vibration and TUNING will grow solid and stronger, and the numbers will grow as sympathetic harmony occurs naturally.

This was a beautiful start to this ceremonial ritual, and it was preceded by a full day space & vision cleansing ritual at Muse for Life. Staff members cleansed, cleared, calibrated, and TUNED the space of Muse for Life, as well as the collective vision. We started this ritual to prepare for this weeks ceremonial offerings, and we will continue performing this cleansing ritual and vision calibration once a month.

We are excited for the daily ceremony honoring water that will be offered tomorrow at 9:00am, and we are also excited about the New Moon Movement and Music Ceremony being offered tomorrow at 8:00pm.

Look forward to more from these ceremonies, and come join us if your heart resonates.

Let these community ceremonies act as tuning forks for the musical stream of our lives, so that we may tune in deeply in a sacred way!
